Riftmages of Phylos
Society: Legends say that technology from before the cataclysm was preserved by a small group of people, but the general public dismisses this as just a story. However, on the fringe of the desert some claim to have glimpsed an alien city on their travels. Hiraje acquired a nickname — the mirage city.
Hiraje was in fact a lost mystical city where a group of highly advanced humans lived. Through painstaking and cruel selective breeding, the Hirajians became their own offshoot of human. Beautiful, quick of body and mind, natural casters, and extremely long lived, these people see themselves as the supreme race of Phylos and usually do not trifle with “lesser folk.”. For this and to keep their knowledge and technology to themselves, the royal family takes it upon themselves to project a shielding and cloaking barrier around the entire city.
Physical Description: The typical Hirajian form is slim but athletic; it is as a statue in it’s perfection. Skin tone varies but a light bronze color is common. The easiest way to identify a Hirajian is their pure white hair. Although one must live hundreds of years before showing signs of old age, they see their white hair as a symbol of their wisdom and intellect.
Alignment and Religion: Hiraje is a nation of strict laws, and derelicts are exiled or more often executed. Otherwise they life peaceful yet purposeful lives advancing their own knowledge and technology. Most Hirajians are lawful neutral or neutral but aren’t limited to such alignments. While respecting the Elemental Lords, their own hubris steers them away from worshiping them.
Adventurers: Usually it would only be the outcasts of society to leave the sanctuary of the city to mingle with the outside world. These adventurers cover their hair with a hood or the like to blend in. Even so, they still prefer the noble arts of the wizard, magus, and fighter.
Elf Racial Traits: For all rules purposes, a Hirajian is an Elf and qualifies for Elf related feats, prestige classes, archetypes, etc.
+2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence, –2 Constitution: Elves are nimble, both in body and mind, but their form is frail.
Medium: Elves are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Normal Speed: Elves have a base speed of 30 feet.
Low-Light Vision: Elves can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light. See Additional Rules.
Elven Immunities: Elves are immune to magic sleep effects and get a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells and effects.
Elven Magic: Elves receive a +2 racial bonus on caster level checks made to overcome spell resistance. In addition, elves receive a +2 racial bonus on Spellcraft skill checks made to identify the properties of magic items.
Keen Senses: Elves receive a +2 racial bonus on Perception skill checks.
Weapon Familiarity: Elves are proficient with longbows (including composite longbows), longswords, rapiers, and shortbows (including composite shortbows), and treat any weapon with the word “elven” in its name as a martial weapon.
